If you've been paying close enough attention, you may have heard sometime in the last two months that Aaron Rodgers doesn't currently have a team for next season.

Not that many people have noticed yet, but real ball-knowers have picked up on the dirty little secret that no one else is talking about.

The Pittsburgh Steelers seem like the eventual outcome, but the Minnesota Vikings are still weirdly looming in the background, ready to pounce whenever he lets it be known that he's fine starting off as JJ McCarthy's backup.

It's not the strongest sales pitch, admittedly, and on one of the numerous Fox Sports morning shows that features various people yelling into the air while Chase Daniel stares at the camera planning his next viral soundbite, his former teammate James Jones had quite the monologue about why going to Minnesota is a terrible idea.

James Jones has no interest in seeing Aaron Rodgers play for the Vikings

Speaking on FS1's The Facility, Jones explained why the Vikings should move forward with McCarthy and not Rodgers.

"Ya'll know how I feel about Aaron Rodgers," Jones said. "That's my dawg. I feel like he can take any organization to the Super Bowl. I just have confidence in him like that. He gives them the best chance, but I don't want to see it, man. Go with the young boy. Let the young boy play football. You drafted him 10th overall, let him play football. And to be honest, I hate what the Minnesota Vikings are doing. Give the young boy some confidence. Let them know you're the starter, man. Let them know this is your football team."

I ... don't disagree? This is pleasantly nuanced for a sports morning show speech. His anecdote about Randy Moss potentially being traded to Green Bay was also a nice add-on.

When your own (former) teammates are encouraging you not to go somewhere, it's probably not a great sign for either side. (Even though there's like, a sub-5% chance that Rodgers is watching Fox Sports morning shows.)

Just sign with the Steelers and be done with it. Give us all our life back, please. My family misses me.
