The Green Bay Packers had some movement take place along the roster. That's bound to happen every offseason, but the Packers saw multiple offensive linemen depart. They released Elgton Jenkins but also let Rasheed Walker walk in free agency.

They are comfortable with Jordan Morgan jumping out to left tackle and being their starter in 2026, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't look at bolstering their depth upfront. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Tuesday that the Kansas City Chiefs and OT Wanya Morris are looking for trade options.

And the Packers would be wise to see what it would take to bring Morris over to Titletown.

Packers should call Chiefs about a Wanya Morris trade

Green Bay used a first-round pick on Morgan back in 2024. Over his first two seasons, he has played every position on the offensive line outside of center. The Packers felt comfortable moving him all around, but his natural position is left tackle. During his collegiate career at Arizona, he appeared in 41 games but made 37 starts at left tackle.

While the Packers are excited about him, getting a quality depth piece shouldn't be overlooked. Morgan suited up in all 17 games last season, but in 2024, he was limited to just six games due to a shoulder injury. If he were to go down, the Packers would have to thrust Darian Kinnard, Brant Banks, or Travis Glover into the lineup. Or maybe they slide Anthony Belton to tackle from guard. That's a risky bet for sure.

That's where Morris comes into the picture. He is entering the final year of his rookie deal. With the Chiefs making it known he's on the block, giving Kansas City a late-Day 3 pick should be enough to get the deal over the finish line.

During his three years with the Chiefs, he appeared in 43 games, logging 16 starts. In those outings, he showed flashes but still has room to grow as both a run/pass blocker. Despite some of his flaws, his versatility is a major bonus. Morris has played both right and left tackle, which is a valuable tool.

Not only has he been asked to protect Patrick Mahomes, but he has been in a Chiefs building that has played in plenty of big games. He knows what it takes to win. Having a player who isn't afraid of the moment is big. The Packers believe they are title contenders, but having quality depth is something that can't be overlooked. Morris would give this team someone who could step in to start if needed without a problem.

Even if he doesn't have to start, he would give this team a solid swing tackle. Every year, teams around the NFL get slammed with injuries on the offensive line. The only thing you can do about that is make sure you have good options on the bench, and acquiring Morris would help them achieve that.

General manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur should certainly call the Chiefs to gauge the price on a potential trade for Morris.
