James Jones drops the mic on LeSean McCoy for bold Packers-Eagles take

He had the perfect response.

The Green Bay Packers have been here before.

Rewind to the 2010 season. They entered the playoffs as the NFC's lowest seed and faced the daunting task of winning three straight road games to make the Super Bowl. It started against the No. 3-seeded Philadelphia Eagles, who they had played in Week 1.

Sound familiar? It's the same situation they run into this year.

The Packers were underdogs on the road. No problem. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes, James Starks rushed for 123 yards, and Tramon Williams came up with a game-winning interception to send Green Bay into the divisional round. The rest was history.

It seems that former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, who had just 42 rushing yards in that contest, may have forgotten what happened when these two teams last met in the playoffs.

James Jones had the perfect response to LeSean McCoy's prediction for Packers vs. Eagles

Speaking on FS1's The Facility, McCoy said it's "going to be a blowout" victory for the Eagles this weekend. He then named several of their star players, including A.J. Brown and Saquon Barkley, and made it clear they weren't worried about the Packers.

Without hesitation, James Jones hit the perfect response.

"You know what? Mike Vick wasn't worried. Shady McCoy wasn't worried. Andy Reid wasn't worried. DeSean Jackson wasn't worried," said Jones. "And the Pack came in there, and we weren't worried. Aaron Rodgers wasn't worried. James Jones wasn't worried. Greg Jennings wasn't worried. Tramon Williams wasn't worried ... and we left The Linc with a dub and sent ya'll home."

Jones was, of course, referring to the Packers' playoff win in Philadelphia 14 years ago that ignited a Super Bowl run. Jones also happened to catch a touchdown pass in that game.

Of course, it was a different team with different players, but it's a good reminder not to overlook the Packers. They were the lowest seed and underdogs in that game, but anything can happen in the postseason. This year's team finished 11-6 for a reason and almost defeated the Eagles in Week 1.

There are some concerns, including whether Jordan Love will be at 100 percent — he logged a full practice on Thursday, which is encouraging. The Packers have the talent to win this game. Many will write them off and give Matt LaFleur's team no chance, but that's a mistake. Just ask the Dallas Cowboys in last year's wild-card round.

McCoy was being a homer and it was all in good fun, but he isn't alone in predicting a blowout Eagles win. That's perfectly fine for the Packers.

As Jones said, it was a similar story the last time these two teams met in the postseason.
