All week long, Green Bay Packers fans have been monitoring each day's practice and injury report in hopes that quarterback Jordan Love will be able to suit up for this weekend's pivotal NFC North clash against the Detroit Lions.
In Week 8, Love suffered a groin injury which ultimately caused him to leave the game in the second half. Although the Packers were still able to pull out the victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, it came at a cost. For the first couple of days this week, no one was quite sure how this injury would progress.
The door had remained open for Love to play against the Lions, as he had not been completely ruled out. However, at times, it seemed as though there could have been some slight doubt.
The injury came at a terrible time, as this matchup will decide first place in the division for the time being.
On Wednesday, Love spoke to the media after practice and said that his groin is definitely "feeling better." He didn't practice in full and was doing more rehab work, but the fact that he was out there certainly provided hope.
When asked how realistic it would be to see him play this week against the Lions, Love did imply the chances were very realistic.
Now, come Thursday, Love made even more progress. He was on the practice field, in pads, taking snaps.
What a sight to see for fans. This already marks the second notable injury for Love, this season, so to say fans have been on edge at times wouldn't be an understatement.

Alas, it appears the Packers will have their man under center against Detroit.
Jordan Love looks on track to play against the Lions in Week 9
From this latest video update courtesy of Rob Demovsky, it sure looks like Love will wind up playing against the Lions. Both teams should have their respective starting quarterback under center, but despite Love being recently injured, the Lions' Jared Goff will be the one under a disadvantage.
Green Bay being the home team, in this one, is a big positive. Goff is no where near the same quarterback outside of a dome, and the fact the Packers will likely have Love on the field too ... that's best-case scenario.
Barring any setbacks, fans should be in for one heck of a game between the two teams. Knowing their strength still lies in the run game, Detroit will likely be attacking on the ground -- and they have a recent history of gashing the Packers in that respect.
Rarely does a win come easy in this division, and Sunday should be no exception. But, if Green Bay does wind up trotting Love out there, it'll make for an exciting contest, overall.
