Matt LaFleur blasts Lions fan for confronting Packers during altercation on TNF

LaFleur didn't hold back when detailing what happened before the game.

Even if the Green Bay Packers had won on Thursday night, I bet Matt LaFleur would have been mad.

Minutes before Thursday Night Football kicked off, cameras caught a shot of LaFleur yelling at a Lions fan who was helping with the pregame festivities at midfield. LaFleur and the fan started jawing back and forth, eventually having to be separated by Packers staffers and other players.

It was a bit of a bizarre scene, and after the Packers' 34-31 loss, LaFleur explained what exactly happened — and managed to sneak in a few shots at the Lions fan.

Essentially, the Lions fan started saying some definitely-not-okay things to Packers players, and also apparently didn't take too kindly to LaFleur trying to keep the peace.

Matt LaFleur rips 'arrogant' Lions fan who confronted Packers players before TNF

"Yeah, I've never been a part of something like that," LaFleur said. "He was talking junk to our players, giving them the throat slash sign, and you're trying to de-escalate it, and then he gets in my face. I thought it was pretty unsportsmanlike. I've never seen that. I've been on many fields and usually they police that much better. I thought it was an arrogant fan who wanted to get in on part of the action. I would like to see security, or something, step in there and get him out of there. Because he shouldn't be doing that."

I mean, yeah, that'll do it.

It is kinda weird to think about how much security exists at an NFL stadium, and yet in immediate moments before kickoff, fans are just, like, four feet away from the visiting sideline. It's almost surprising this doesn't happen more often?

That Lions fan has probably texted the entire story to every person in his phone already.
