The Green Bay Packers landed 26-year-old superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons in a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. While the dust is still settling on the historic move, Packers fans are starting to get acquainted with their new star.
While it did cost a fan favorite in Kenny Clark and two future first-round picks to acquire Parsons, this was an easy price to pay for an epic upgrade to the defense. Parsons and Rashan Gary rushing the quarterback is nightmare fuel for opposing offenses.
Parsons is also signing a four-year, $188 million deal, and his $47 million annual price tag is, by a solid margin, the highest by a non-quarterback in NFL history. He should be well worth it, however, as the Packers now seem like the frontrunners to come out of the NFC.
Micah Parsons teases Packers fans with new jersey number
While he has just over a week to learn the playbook and get oriented with a new city, building, coaching staff, front office, locker room and living situation, Parsons is already having fun settling his next numerical equation: his jersey number.
In Dallas and in college at Penn State, Parsons wore number 11. Unfortunately, that currently belongs to wide receiver Jayden Reed, so Parsons is currently teasing on social media whether he should wear No. 0 or No. 1, and Packers fans are in an absolute frenzy about it.
Should I go 0 or 1!

Whichever number Parsons ends up with, it will be significant. The No. 0 jersey has never been worn in the history of the Packers' organization before, and the No. 1 is unofficially retired, as it has not been worn since Curly Lambeau in the 1926 season. Jayden Reed learned that the hard way when he wanted the No. 1 jersey in 2023.

So, Parsons has a choice to be the first in the illustrious history of Green Bay football to don the No. 0 jersey, or he can join the great Curly Lambeau as the only other player in Packers history to have No. 1 on his jersey (if the team lets him).
Packers fans need to know which he will choose, and quickly, so that they can place their orders for Micah Parsons jerseys before Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. It shouldn't be too long after that Lambeau Field, and many others, are filled with Parsons 0 or 1 jerseys.
It sure is nice to have an absolute superstar back in Green Bay, whose jersey number decision even feels like a major deal.
