Mina Kimes believes in wild Jordan Love conspiracy theory (and she's right)
Mina Kimes is one of the best in the business, and she has a track record of delivering great Jordan Love takes. When Kimes speaks about the Green Bay Packers, everyone should pay attention.
Today, that statement couldn't be more true. Kimes has weighed in on the wild Jordan Love "Toyotathon" conspiracy theory. If you haven't heard about it, let's quickly fix that.
Every year, Toyota runs a sales event from around mid-November to January. Somehow, someway, people began to notice that Love's season turned dramatically during Toyotathon last year. The numbers back it up.
In 2023, he threw for 2,009 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in the Packers' games before Toyotathon. During the event? How about 2,150 yards, 18 touchdowns, and one interception?
The scary part? It's happening again.
Love played seven games before this year's Toyotathon, throwing for 1,820 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions with an 88.2 rating. He had at least one pick in every game. In the three games since it started? He has 698 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception to earn a 120.8 rating.
Kimes is fully on board.

It's hard to argue with the numbers. For his career, Love has played in 16 games outside of Toyotathon, with 3,829 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions. In the 13 games during the event, he has 2,848 yards, 23 touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Here's what Kimes had to say on ESPN's The Mina Kimes Show:
"Last year, before and after Toyotathon, Jordan Love turned into a different quarterback," said Kimes. "The last time that Green Bay played Detroit was before Toyotathon began. Since Toyotathon started this year, Jordan Love is first in EPA per dropback, first in yards per dropback, first in touchdown percentage, fourth in QBR. The Lions are running into Jordan Love at the wrong time because Toyotathon is here."
Now, many would argue that Kimes was joking. We'd say that she was just telling the facts. And they are facts, by the way.
Doubters might say, "Correlation does not imply causation," to which I would reply, "Shut up."
The Lions are dealing with awful injury luck and will miss many defensive starters on Thursday Night Football, but that's not their biggest problem. Dan Campbell's team will take one look at the schedule, check the calendar, and quickly realize they couldn't have timed the Packers' visit any worse.
They have to deal with Jordan Love during Toyotathon, and if history tells us anything, it's that he will throw three touchdown passes in a Packers win.
