There won't be many better draft-day stories than when the Green Bay Packers selected Barryn Sorrell.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell came to the podium to announce the pick, which is much rarer on Day 3, as Sorrell was in the green room. He had waited patiently for his opportunity, and it was worth it as the hometown Packers fans embraced him.

Sorrell shared an incredible moment with his new fans, but he almost didn't stick around for Day 3.

"I had to make a decision this morning. Do I go back, do I go home and do it that way? I'm so blessed and thankful that I made the decision to come back," said Sorrell. "It couldn't have turned out better, man."

On the field, Sorrell can help fix the Packers' ailing pass rush. His arrival puts pressure on former first-round pick Lukas Van Ness, as the Texas product is ready to make an immediate impact. Don't be surprised if he quickly becomes a starter in Jeff Hafley's defense.

He made six sacks and 11 tackles for loss last season.

Packers draft pick Barryn Sorrell holds back the tears in emotional press conference

Sorrell spoke to reporters after the pick, creating another emotional moment that will instantly make Packers fans love him.

"I really don't have any words to describe it," Sorrell said. "It's definitely going to be one of the best memories I've had in my life. This day has been great. Just the energy these fans bring. You can tell how important it is out here."

Sorrell got emotional while discussing his experience during draft weekend. He then introduced his family, including his parents.

"They sacrificed so much to be here and I'm just happy I get to share this opportunity with them because they deserve it," Sorrell said while fighting back the tears.

It was an incredible moment to watch what it meant to him and his family. Sorrell hasn't been on the roster for a day, but he has already become a fan favorite.

He spoke about his excitement to learn from Rashan Gary. An added benefit of being in Green Bay for the draft? Sorrell got to meet with defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley right after the Packers picked him.

Sorrell is a Day 3 steal and a perfect fit in Hafley's defense. Beyond his impact on the pass rush, Sorrell will quickly become a leader in the locker room.

He has already won over the hearts of Packers fans. What a moment.
