Jordan Love has led the Green Bay Packers to back-to-back postseason appearances since taking over for Aaron Rodgers to begin the 2023 season. Over that stretch, he has thrown for 7,548 yards, 57 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions, while completing 63.7 percent of his pass attempts and adding 330 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 75 carries.
While he has proven to be a winning quarterback, there are plenty who have seemingly been writing him off entering the 2025 season. Much of that is likely due to his individual numbers taking a dip as he spent much of last season playing through injury. But fighting through that adversity may have helped him level up.
Speaking to Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show, Love revealed that he learned from his injury when asked about his "superpower." Love believes last year's struggles will actually help him in the long run.
"Dealing with injury and not being able to move, you go into the game with the mindset of like, 'alright, I can't scramble around and make these plays off schedule so I've got to know, alright, the play is kind of dead, let me find a checkdown, let me get the ball out quick,'" Love said.
"So, just having that in the back of my head every time. When stuff's not going right, I'm not going to have that extra second to move around and try to make somebody miss sometimes. So, just trying to get the ball out as quick as possible, but it definitely wasn't fun dealing with that because I think that is part of my game is trying to be evasive in the pocket -- move around and make plays off schedule with my legs."
Packers star Jordan Love puts the NFL on notice ahead of 2025 season
Love believes the injuries have taught him to process the game faster and not hold onto the ball for as long. That can help elevate his entire game.
The Packers star threw at least one interception in each of his first eight games played -- and a total of 11 during that span -- however, he did not throw a single pick over his final seven regular-season games.
While Love received plenty of love from pundits entering last season, that has not been the case as he prepares for his third season as a starter. Instead, the Packers star seemingly has something to prove once again.
Love appears to have extra motivation going into the season. While he is currently limited at practice following thumb surgery, the Packers star is expected to be ready for their Week 1 matchup with the Detroit Lions.
Despite his individual success in his brief career as a starter -- and leading Green Bay to back-to-back postseason appearances -- Love revealed that he doesn't believe the team has done anything worth celebrating. The mentality of the first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft should certainly excite the fanbase as he appears motivated to bring a fifth Lombardi Trophy to Lambeau.
