The Green Bay Packers didn't draft a running back to pair with Josh Jacobs, but they've given his brother a chance to show what he can do.

UAB running back Isaiah Jacobs went undrafted, but he will get a shot in Green Bay. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Packers have invited Jacobs to their rookie minicamp.

He will join undrafted free-agent signing Jaden Nixon. Given the Packers' lack of moves at running back, Jacobs has a golden opportunity.

Isaiah Jacobs has a huge opportunity to join his brother in Packers backfield

Jacobs faced an uphill battle to get drafted. He had to overcome two season-ending injuries during his time at UAB before rushing 79 times for 342 yards and four touchdowns last season. He added 82 receiving yards and a score and returned three kicks.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler ranked Jacobs as the 136th running back in the class in his annual The Beast draft guide.

Sometimes, though, all you need is an opportunity. For that reason, Green Bay might be the perfect landing spot.

The Packers didn't draft a running back despite losing Emanuel Wilson in free agency. MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks are the current backups behind Josh Jacobs, but can either carve out a consistent RB2 role? Injuries have limited Lloyd to just one game in two seasons, while Brooks only played a handful of snaps as a solid RB3. Brooks blocks well but is unproven in a more featured role.

That leaves the door wide open for competition, and for Isaiah, that gives him an opportunity at his rookie tryout. If he can impress the coaching staff, there's a chance he could join Josh on the Packers' 90-man offseason roster. From there, anything is possible.

What a cool story. We're still a long way from seeing a Jacobs-Jacobs backfield on Sundays, but Josh's younger brother has an opportunity, and he'll have the entire Packers fanbase rooting for him.
