As the Jaire Alexander chapter closes, Green Bay Packers fans shouldn't build their hopes up over a potential reunion with free-agent cornerback Rasul Douglas.
A fan asked Douglas on social media whether he would return to Green Bay, to which Douglas said he doesn't think it will happen. His reason?
They have Bo Melton.
They got Bo melton

Douglas likely didn't mean any disrespect and was just having fun, but it still highlights the ridiculousness of the team's cornerback situation.
The Packers have cross-trained Melton at cornerback this offseason. No, he isn't considered Alexander's replacement, but the timing of the switch is hilarious.
And it does shine a spotlight on the Packers' glaring cornerback concern.
Without Jaire, the Packers are left with Keisean Nixon, Nate Hobbs, and Carrington Valentine as their likely starters. Maybe Javon Bullard will win the starting position in the slot to allow Hobbs to play outside more frequently. We'll see.
The problem? Green Bay lacks a true shutdown corner on the outside, and beyond the starters, its depth is non-existent.
Rasul Douglas' joke actually highlights one of the Packers' biggest concerns entering 2025
It's hard to win Super Bowls without an excellent pass defense, and the Packers have question marks in two key areas. Can they generate consistent pressure on quarterbacks, and do they have the cornerbacks to slow down opposing wide receivers?
Who is the CB4 on the roster?
Seventh-round rookie Micah Robinson? Kamal Hadden? Kalen King? Gregory Junior? The Packers' decision not to upgrade the cornerback room while knowing Alexander could depart may come back to haunt them. It's a gamble.
Unfortunately, the answer probably isn't signing Douglas, either.
The 30-year-old was a playmaker for the Packers and took his game to even greater heights with the Buffalo Bills, making four interceptions in his first nine games with the team.
However, his play declined last season. Per Pro Football Reference, Douglas recorded five pass defenses while allowing a completion percentage of 72.9 and a passer rating of 122.0 in his coverage.
Barring a surprising trade for Jalen Ramsey, the Packers may have run out of options.
Maybe it'll all work out, and Douglas is right. After all, they've got Bo Melton.
