Blessing best describes the Green Bay Packers' opening stretch of the regular season. While blockbuster matchups with the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders will challenge them, the Packers will enjoy five of their opening nine games at home.
They also get an early but always welcomed bye in Week 5.
Brutal best describes the second half. Once Jordan Love hits Toyotathon season, the storm clouds are coming. Four of the Packers' final six games are away from Lambeau Field, including a short-week Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Lions and a trip to Denver, where they've lost seven times in eight attempts.
Fortunately, the sun shines brightly on the Packers' early-season schedule, and that includes one of their "road" games.
Hello, Dallas Cowboys.
It's Green Bay's home away from home. AT&T Stadium has witnessed many memorable moments, but a Packers loss isn't among them. They have as many playoff wins as the Cowboys in AT&T, and even Mike McCarthy won a Super Bowl there.
The Packers won't have a long wait to turn Jerry's World into Jordan's World, as the league has placed this game in a favorable spot.
Packers will visit their home away from home with showdown vs. Cowboys in Week 4
After challenging contests against Detroit and Washington, LaFleur's squad will need some comic relief. The NFL obliged, handing the Packers a road opener against the struggling Cleveland Browns before revisiting their second home to meet the Cowboys.
On Green Bay's last visit, Jordan Love torched Dallas' defense to power the seventh-seeded Packers past McCarthy's Cowboys in a 48-32 stunner. Super Love played a near-perfect game, completing 76.2 percent of his passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns.
The good news for Dallas? Christian Watson likely won't return in time for this game. Watson terrified the Cowboys' defense in their last meeting. At times, Dan Quinn had all of AT&T Stadium in his coverage.
There's bad news, though, and his name is Matthew Golden. Yes, the same Matthew Golden the Cowboys hilariously passed on despite him offering everything they needed at wide receiver.
Green Bay shouldn't overlook Dallas, who has enough talent to spring back into playoff contention. LaFleur won't look past any opponent, but the Packers will feel confident in their return to Jerry's World.
The Cowboys did little to fix a run defense that allowed 137.1 yards on the ground per game last term, the fourth-worst record in the league. That's music to Josh Jacobs' ears.
Green Bay plays eight games at Lambeau and nine on the road this season, but AT&T Stadium has been kind to Aaron Rodgers and, most recently, Love. The Packers will finally make their return for the first time since shocking the world in the wild-card round two seasons ago.
It feels good to be home.
