The Green Bay Packers have added more draft capital after trading Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles.
It's a move that comes with some risk. While Green Bay still has strong wide receiver depth, trading Wicks strengthens an NFC rival while losing a big-play threat on offense. The move netted the Packers a fifth-round pick in this month's draft, as well as a sixth-round choice in 2027.
Green Bay doesn't own a first-round pick thanks to the Micah Parsons trade, but it now holds eight selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. Here's the full breakdown:
Round | Pick |
|---|---|
2 | 52 |
3 | 84 |
4 | 120 |
5 | 153 (from PHI) |
5 | 160 |
6 | 201 |
7 | 236 |
7 | 255* |

Dontayvion Wicks trade increases Packers' 2026 pick tally to eight, but 2027 is the year to watch
The Packers have plenty of flexibility in this year's draft, should they wish to move around the draft board. The additional fifth-rounder will give general manager Brian Gutekunst more draft capital to include in a package if he attempts to trade up.
Gutekunst clearly has one eye on the 2027 NFL Draft, too. That's becoming a theme this offseason.
The Packers won't have a first-rounder in 2027 due to the Parsons trade. They also traded their original 2027 sixth-round choice to the Eagles for Darian Kinnard. Coincidentally, Philadelphia will now send its other sixth-rounder to Green Bay for Wicks.
Gutekunst has loaded up on Day 3 selections in 2027. Factoring in the projected compensatory picks, Green Bay is now up to 11 total draft picks in 2027, including nine on Day 3.
The Packers will likely own four fourth-round picks: their original selection, the Dallas Cowboys' pick from the Rashan Gary trade, and compensatory picks for losing Malik Willis and Romeo Doubs.
Green Bay will also likely hold two fifth-rounders, its original selection and a compensatory pick for losing Quay Walker. It should also hold two sixth-round picks, one from Philadelphia for Wicks, and the other a compensatory pick for losing Kingsley Enagbare.
Despite sending two first-rounders to the Cowboys, the Packers will now (assuming the 2027 compensatory pick projections are correct) hold 19 draft choices over the next two years.
