At 3-2, the Green Bay Packers have performed adequately, but there is still that feeling they could do more. With the NFL trade deadline less than a month away, now is the time to start identifying possible targets for the Packers.

There is one player in particular who has seen the likelihood of being moved skyrocket over the past couple of weeks: Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Cooper and the Browns have gotten off to a disastrous start, and it does not seem like it will be fixed any time soon. Cleveland is refusing to make a change at quarterback, and with its upcoming schedule becoming increasingly difficult, the losses could continue to mount, which could lead to them deciding to trade the few moveable players they have. One of them is Cooper.

With just 20 receptions for 208 yards and two touchdowns, Cooper has been unable to replicate his previous success in Cleveland, which came with other quarterbacks. Granted, Cooper's nine drops are not helping matters, but it is not like he has been the recipient of competent quarterback play.

It is clear that better quarterback play could result in a much better stat line for someone who has proven capable of being better than what has been seen so far this season.

Packers should consider making a trade offer for wide receiver Amari Cooper

This is where the Packers come in.

Green Bay is a much more stable organization than Cleveland, and quarterback Jordan Love is playing at a much higher level than Cooper is getting with the Browns. Additionally, the Packers are going to at least be in the mix for the postseason, while the Browns are clearly not going to be anywhere close to qualifying. This change in scenery could very well result in Cooper returning to playing at a high level.

Of course, there is a benefit to Green Bay acquiring the services of someone as talented as Cooper. Love would have the true number-one receiver they currently do not have on their roster. It would also help them navigate the troubles they have experienced with players once thought to be the future of their receiving corps. This will allow those options to slide into secondary roles, where they should be able to thrive as opposing defenses would turn their attention to Cooper.

The 30-year-old wideout is set to become a free agent after the year, making this a rental until the end of the season. Not having to take on a long-term contract would give the Packers flexibility after the season in the event things do not work out, and they could part ways after the season without having to worry about any ramifications down the line.

A low-risk, high-reward move like this one is exactly what a team like the Packers should be pursuing as they prepare for a run into and through the playoffs.
