4 Green Bay Packers on the hot seat entering Week 15
After a brutal loss against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, the Green Bay Packers have to regroup quickly and find a way to come home and win a game against the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Although the Bucs, like the Packers, are only 6-7, that team is hungry to get back to the postseason and Baker Mayfield stands to make a lot of money if he can get them there. The Green Bay Packers are going to need to be on top of their game to stay in the playoff mix after Week 15, and there are a few members of the team on the hot seat heading into the game.
With the playoffs on the line, which Packers really need to find a way to step things up against the Buccaneers so this team doesn't drop to 6-8?
Let's take a look at a few who are struggling and on the proverbial hot seat entering Week 15.
1. Anders Carlson
You can't always expect kickers to be perfect, especially rookie kickers, but Anders Carlson has hit a bit of a wall in the second half of his rookie season. After missing just one field goal through the first two months of the season (in a two-point loss to the Broncos), Carlson has now missed at least one kick in five of the last six games.
You can't pin an entire loss on one missed kick, but it's hard not to be upset about those games against Denver and the Giants, which were decided by two points and involved missed field goals.
The Packers aren't going to cut Carlson or anything, but I think it's fair to say he's on the hot seat after arguably costing his team the game against the Giants. He's also got three missed extra points since the beginning of November. The rookie has to find a way out of this funk he's been in.
