Ever since the NFL announced the Green Bay Packers would play the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo, Brazil, there has been confusion about a potential "ban" on green jerseys.

In April, The Guardian reported that there is an "informal ban" on wearing green at Corinthians Arena, which comes from the soccer rivalry between Corinthians and Palmeiras. It didn't help that the Packers and Eagles wear green home jerseys.

Packers running back Josh Jacobs only added to the rumors with his comments this offseason, but the NFL promptly denied any ban on wearing green during the season opener. The informal ban relates to the soccer teams and will not impact the Week 1 showdown.

And now, we have confirmation.

Packers will wear their home jerseys in Week 1 vs. Eagles in Brazil

There is no longer any doubt. The Packers have busted the myth about a ban on green, once and for all. They announced that they will wear their home green and gold uniforms in Brazil.

As the Eagles are the "home" team, they chose to wear white jerseys with black pants, which means the Packers will play in their home colors.

So, there we have it.

There is no ban on the color green. There would've been an easy workaround, as the Eagles could've worn their all-black uniforms with the Packers in white and gold, the same uniform matchup from the teams' last meeting in 2022. But there's clearly no need, and the Packers will wear their green jerseys.

It follows an unusual trend from the preseason. The Packers played in their home jerseys for their two road preseason games and then wore their road uniforms at Lambeau Field. They will now wear their green jerseys for the third straight road game this summer.

Considering the Packers' popularity in Brazil, we can expect to see plenty of green and gold around the stadium, too.
