5 players who are playing their way out of Packers plans in 2024
The Green Bay Packers have found themselves in a bit of a hole rather quickly. After getting to 6-6 and looking like they might be a little bit of a dangerous team in the NFC playoff mix, consecutive losses to the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers now have this Packers team at 6-8 and on the outside looking in.
And, of course, there are individuals to blame for that (looking at you, Joe Barry). But what about the players on the field?
The players obviously aren't going to be exempt from blame, and there are a number of guys on this Packers roster right now who may not be by the time 2024 rolls around with the way they've been playing lately.
Who's playing their way off the roster and/or out of the plans for 2024?
1. Aaron Jones, RB
You really hoped that this season could be a lot better from Aaron Jones, especially after the departure of Aaron Rodgers. I think if the Packers had Jones at his best in 2023, and healthy, the whole dynamic of the season could have been different.
But here we are.
Jones has struggled to stay on the field in 2023, and even in the eight games he's played, he's only eclipsed 100 yards from scrimmage once. That was back in the first game of the season. With a cap hit over $17 million next year, the Packers can't justify Jones being in their future plans with the way he's played.
