Packers: Winners and losers from the 2023 NFL Draft
Winner: Jordan Love
What a week it has been for Jordan Love. After three long seasons waiting for his moment, he has to be delighted with how the past eight or so days have played out. First, the Aaron Rodgers trade became official, clearing the way for Love to finally take the reins as the Packers' new starting quarterback.
Then, he got to sit back and watch while Brian Gutekunst added offensive player after offensive player in the draft.
All three Day 2 picks were spent on adding offensive weapons. Along with tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft, the Packers drafted Michigan State wide receiver Jayden Reed, who can be an excellent option for Love in the slot. He brings speed and explosiveness to the Packers' offense, and he is excellent after the catch. Reed should make an instant impact in this offense.
And they weren't done there. Green Bay used Day 3 picks on wide receivers Dontayvion Wicks and Grant DuBose, who are both fantastic athletes and add much-needed depth to the receiving corps.
The Packers have built a talented young offense around Love, and the depth chart has been transformed over draft weekend. Jordan Love is a huge winner for the Packers after the past week.
