The NFL Draft always changes things for several veterans, and for the Green Bay Packers, there is one specific position which is going to be heavily talked about after the 2025 rookie additions.

Wide receiver was an area this team needed to make upgrade and provide competition, and they did just that.

By drafting Matthew Golden in the first round, the Packers could have just given their offense a legitimate number one option. But, the reinforcements didn't stop there.

In Round 3, Green Bay went out and got Savion Williams out of TCU. By doing so, the Packers officially put multiple players on notice, including Mecole Hardman, who may never even play a down in Green Bay. But Hardman isn't the only veteran affected.

A young Packers wide receiver still searching for his official NFL start might have to keep looking

Back in January, the Packers signed 24-year-old wide receiver Lideatrick "Tulu" Griffin. He has yet to appear in an NFL game, but he's been doing what he can to lift his career off the ground.

Griffin went undrafted in 2024 out of Mississippi State before he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. That stint was short-lived, though, and he would ultimately spend a couple of weeks with the Cleveland Browns practice squad before being released September 10.

Griffin did not get another chance until he signed with Green Bay earlier this year, but after the 2025 draft decisions made by the Packers, his future isn't looking too bright in green and gold.

Throughout his career at Mississippi State, Griffin recorded 126 catches for 1,490 yards and nine touchdown receptions. He also ended his collegiate career as one of the better return specialists in the nation, averaging over 32 yards per kick return in back-to-back seasons from 2021 to 2022.

If he has any shot at making this Packers roster, Griffin will have to make one heck of an impression throughout the summer months. He would also benefit from a Romeo Doubs trade or if Green Bay moved on from Hardman earlier rather than later.

Meanwhile, Williams and Golden join a core featuring Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Christian Watson, who is recovering from injury as we speak. The five of them, when healthy, figure to be an upgraded wide receiver room as soon as the inevitable happens with Doubs.
