Romeo Doubs continues to make progress through the concussion protocol, but it's now a race against time with the Green Bay Packers playing on Thursday Night Football.

The good news is that Doubs practiced again on Tuesday. The official word from the Packers is that he was limited. The bad news? Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that he is still in the concussion protocol. What we don't know is how close Doubs is to clearing the protocol and being able to return. Wednesday's practice should give us an indication.

Jaire Alexander also logged another practice, which is encouraging. The Packers will take caution to avoid a repeat of his last return against the Chicago Bears, which lasted all of 10 plays. Alexander is dealing with a PCL sprain. He is almost six weeks removed from suffering the injury and hasn't played since (outside of the first quarter against Chicago). Hopefully, he can return in time for this huge matchup on Thursday.

But it could also make sense to give him another week, especially with a 10-day gap between games.

Packers likely won't have Edgerrin Cooper or Corey Ballentine on TNF

While there is hope the Packers will get Alexander and Doubs back for Thursday Night Football, the outlook is less positive for Edgerrin Cooper and Corey Ballentine. They remain sidelined with hamstring and knee injuries, respectively, making a return in time for TNF unlikely.

LaFleur has previously said he doesn't expect either player to miss much time, but this week's game likely comes too soon. With a mini-bye providing more time between this game and the Packers' Sunday Night Football matchup with the Seattle Seahawks next week, hopefully they will have a chance to return by then.

Overall, the Packers are relatively healthy. No team is 100 percent, but if they can get Alexander and Doubs back for this game, they will be in great shape. It's a reverse of the previous matchup in Week 9 when the Packers missed several key players and Jordan Love played through a groin injury.

The Lions could miss several key starters in this game. We'll learn more when both teams release their final injury reports on Wednesday.
