The announcement this week that the NFL had granted an exemption to the Packers to gather together June 16 for a celebration and to receive their world championship rings earned with their Super Bowl win back in February was good news to all in Packers Nation.

Damn those Milwaukee Brewers! I love ‘em, but they are on pace to throw off my football schedule. You see, with the exception of 2009 when the Brewers actually qualified for the playoffs, the Brewers year-in and year-out have started slowly and were inevitably out of contention by no later than the middle of May … Some years they were mathematically and morally done by the end of June. What that meant is that Wisconsin sports fans were ready to start talking, sleeping and eating Green Bay Packers football. They were already booking hotel rooms for August to watch training [...]
