Week 14, vs. Falcons: Win

Much like the Seattle Seahawks a few years ago, the Atlanta Falcons have been very problematic for the Packers the past couple of seasons. Atlanta made the playoffs last year as a sixth seed and many analysts are very high on their chance to make the postseason once again.

Trying to find a weakness in the Falcons’ offense is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Julio Jones has the sheer size that always gives him an advantage against defenders. Julio’s threat is complemented by the new wideout Calvin Ridley, the first pick for Atlanta in the draft. Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman give a great one-two punch for the ground game. The cherry on top is that they are led by Matt Ryan, who won the league MVP two years ago.

Atlanta’s impressive roster is why people believe in their success. One factor that still lingers is the absence of offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan since he left to become head coach of the 49ers. Their offense simply hasn’t been as explosive without Shanahan. Julio Jones recorded a career-low three touchdowns last season, which is abysmal coming from one of the best in the league.

The Packers’ defense will definitely have their hands full in this game. Atlanta and Green Bay normally end in high-scoring shootouts. The weather getting colder in December only gives the Packers more fuel to move towards the playoffs.
