Start ‘Em

Aaron Rodgers

The statistics heavily favored Rodgers last week versus the Lions, which means so did the fantasy points. Rodgers had 442 yards and three touchdowns that accumulated 28.6 points in standard leagues.

That number should have been higher if not for the two strip sacks that ended up being recovered by Detroit. Matt Patricia is building a good defense with the Lions, and Rodgers still ate them alive — especially in the second half.

The San Francisco 49ers don’t have a great defense right now. The Niners have been infected with the injury bug which doesn’t help their cause for the moment.

The air is also getting colder in Green Bay, which means it’s around the time that Rodgers begins heating up. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see A-Rod have a repeat of the numbers he put up against the Lions, minus the strip sacks.

Davante Adams

Last week I suggested sitting Davante Adams as he was still nursing a calf injury while fighting coverage from Darius Slay. That was a mistake.

No one should ever bench Adams, no matter the defense he goes against. Adams tore up Detroit’s defense with 140 yards and a touchdown. He put up 20 points in standard leagues and proved to everyone exactly the reason he was being selected in the second round of fantasy drafts.

Adams has become an old reliable for everyone who drafted him this year. While his ceiling may not be as high as some wide receivers such as Julio Jones or Antonio Brown, his basement is very shallow.

In fact, Adams currently has more fantasy points than Brown and Jones. With 425 yards and four touchdowns on the season so far, Adams is slowly making a case of possibly being a late first-round pick in next year’s draft.

Aaron Jones

Each week fans are unanimously shouting at Mike McCarthy through their TVs to give the ball to Aaron Jones.

Once again Jones had the least amount of touches of all the Packers running backs, and it leaves people scratching their heads. In McCarthy’s defense, Green Bay was down 24-0 at halftime and turned the strategy to a very pass-heavy play calling.

There will be a game very soon where the Packers will come out explosive from their first drive and force the other team to play catchup. It will be the game where Jones will finally get more carries and show how powerful he can be.

With the 49ers defense being so banged up, this would be the perfect game for Jones to prove why he’s capable of being the lead running back on the Packers. It may be a risky start, but the pay off will taste sweet when Jones helps bring your fantasy team to victory.
