Packers 2019 schedule release: Predictions for every game
Week 5: at Dallas Cowboys
Green Bay has plenty of great memories at A&T Stadium and is a perfect 4-0 in the stadium (three wins against the Cowboys, one against the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV). But all good things must come to an end. A playoff team in 2018, Dallas paired a top-10 rushing offense with the No. 6 scoring defense. And you just know Randall Cobb will score the game-winner. Dallas 28, Green Bay 24 (2-3)
Week 6: vs. Detroit Lions (Monday Night Football)
Remember when the Lions couldn’t win a game at Lambeau Field? I miss those days. The Packers have now lost their past two home games against the Lions, although it’s important to note that Aaron Rodgers threw a combined five passes in those two games. As long as Rodgers is healthy, it’s a win. Green Bay 27, Detroit 17 (3-3)
Week 7: vs. Oakland Raiders
Even after trading for Antonio Brown this offseason and entering the draft with three first-round picks, the Raiders are still very much a team in a rebuild. No defense allowed more points per game in 2018 than the Raiders. At Lambeau Field, this is a game the Packers should win, and one they should win big. Green Bay 38, Oakland 14 (4-3)
Week 8: at Kansas City Chiefs
Arguably the toughest game on the schedule, Mike Pettine’s defense will be tested against a Kansas City offense that averaged a league-high 425.6 yards per game last season. Will the Packers have an answer for reigning league-MVP Patrick Mahomes? It could be a long day for the Packers at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City 35, Green Bay 27 (4-4)
