Quarterbacks (2)

Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love

The Packers could decide to keep a third quarterback with Benkert playing well in the preseason, but I found it hard to find the space on the roster. Assuming Jordan Love is healthy for Week 1, he’s played well enough to be the backup quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers this season.

Keeping a third quarterback would be a luxury. In an ideal world, the Packers will be able to cut Benkert and sign him to the practice squad, but that’s far from a guarantee.

At the risk of losing him to another team, I have Benkert just missing out on a spot on the 53-man roster with the Packers rolling with their top two.

Running backs (3)

Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Kylin Hill

Similarly, it’s possible the Packers will decide to keep four running backs for depth. However, I’ve opted for more depth at other positions, meaning the team just goes with three running backs on the initial 53.

Aaron Jones needs no introduction. He’s a Pro Bowler and one of the best in the league at his position. AJ Dillon looked ready for the regular season to start in Saturday’s game, averaging seven yards per carry from his four attempts.

Rookie Kylin Hill has been outstanding this summer and looks a step ahead of the other running backs competing for a roster spot. He should be the RB3 in 2021.
