Packers 2022 schedule release: Game-by-game, final record predictions
Week 7: at Washington Commanders
This could be a low-scoring game. The Washington Commanders’ defense is no joke, especially in the front seven.
A pass rush featuring 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year Chase Young and Montez Sweat can create problems for any offensive line. Young is returning from a torn ACL, but is one of the best young pass rushers in football when healthy.
The Commanders have plenty of talent at defensive tackle too, with Pro Bowler Jonathan Allen, former first-round pick Daron Payne, and rookie Phidarian Mathis.
On offense, they have a talented wide receiver duo of Terry McLaurin and first-round pick Jahan Dotson.
While Washington does have plenty of talent, Green Bay is the better team.
Joe Barry’s defense is also loaded with talent and could make it tough on Washington to move the football.
If the Packers can put Carson Wentz under pressure, they can force a turnover or two.
Under Matt LaFleur, the Packers have found ways to win, even in difficult games on the road. This could be another game like that.
A bit of a defensive battle, but Aaron Rodgers will do enough on offense to get the Packers over the line for a key road victory in the NFC.
Prediction: Green Bay 21, Washington 17 (6-1)
