Amari Rodgers, WR

The Packers still have high hopes for Amari Rodgers, as they should.

Even after a tough rookie season, Rodgers still has a ton of potential. Sometimes it takes a few years for wide receivers to develop. Just ask Davante Adams, whom many fans wanted to be replaced by Jeff Janis following the 2015 season.

That said, this is an important second year for Rodgers.

The Packers might not have a clear WR1 or WR2, but they have good depth at the position. A case could be made for keeping six or seven receivers on the 53-man roster.

With such depth, there should be good competition for playing time. If one receiver dominates during training camp and the preseason and builds good chemistry with Aaron Rodgers, it could translate into regular season snaps.

A fantastic opportunity awaits Amari Rodgers. Do not forget that the Packers traded up to get him in the third round only a year ago. They clearly liked his potential.

But there is a lot of competition.

Randall Cobb is the Packers’ other slot receiver. Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs will all be aiming to land starting jobs. Samori Toure, Juwann Winfree, and Malik Taylor will compete for roster spots.

Patience is needed for Rodgers, but the addition of many new receivers adds pressure to the former third-round pick.
