Romeo Doubs steps up

One major positive from the offense was the play of Romeo Doubs.

With Sammy Watkins and Christian Watson out, the fourth-round rookie made the most of his first real opportunity in the NFL, just like he did throughout the summer.

Doubs led the Packers in receiving, making eight catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. He caught all of his targets.

It wasn’t a perfect game. Doubs did fumble on the opening drive, but he was fortunate to get back on it.

Still, he made so many impressive plays in this game. Building trust with Aaron Rodgers is essential for young wide receivers, and performances like this will go a long way to achieving this.

Every time Rodgers threw Doubs’ way, he caught it. The rookie also showed off his yards-after-catch ability as he did last week against the Chicago Bears.

Like any rookie, Doubs will make mistakes. But what’s clear from watching him not just today, but also throughout the summer, is that Doubs can be a special player. He has the potential to become a multi-time Pro Bowler.

Doubs made the most of his opportunity in Week 3. It won’t be surprising if he’s a starter in the near future.
