Chicago Bears fans have no issue joining Ben Johnson in the undignified celebrations after a win, but will they swallow their pride and share his sentiment toward Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love?

That remains to be seen.

It's become abundantly clear that Bears fans need a reality check when it comes to Love, who is currently fourth in the MVP odds and is clearly one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Everyone seems to be able to see it except Chicago fans, who are in denial ahead of their team's first of two matchups against Green Bay over the next three weeks.

"It's going to be a big challenge because their offense, they can put points up in bunches. Between the quarterback playing at such a high level — extremely accurate," Johnson said. "He's willing to look down the barrel and take one in the chin while delivering an accurate ball. We saw that last week with the game on the line, that fourth down. I thought was one of the better throws I've seen all year long from him."

Ben Johnson needs to help Bears fans understand how good Packers QB Jordan Love is

It's common in the NFL for the head coach of an opposing team to say nice things about the other quarterback during his media availability. However, Johnson isn't blowing any smoke here. It seems as though Love has been getting underrated all season long, not just by Bears fans, but by a lot of people out there.

There is only one player with more multi-passing touchdown games (16) than Jordan Love through the first 40 games of his NFL career. That player is Patrick Mahomes (19). He was just named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, and has been one of the highest-graded and most efficient quarterbacks in the NFL.

Somewhat quietly, he's putting together an MVP-caliber season. Of course, no Bears fan wants to admit that with the NFC North on the line. They want to believe that Love is overrated, or that he's not playing that great, because if that's the case, then they've got a much better shot of pulling off an upset at Lambeau Field this Sunday.

And the Packers are hefty 6.5-point favorites in the game.

It's interesting that the Packers would be so heavily favored if Love truly wasn't playing well, especially because the Bears are half a win ahead of the Packers right now and would have the top seed in the NFC if the season ended today.

The Packers need Love to do his part in silencing the Bears' fan base. Bears fans can write off what Johnson is saying as coachspeak, even though he's telling the truth.

Johnson isn't doubting his abilities, but Bears fans might not be willing to believe it until they see it on Sunday.
