2. Jordan Morgan, offensive line

First-round NFL Draft status is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, you know the organization you're heading to obviously believes in you and your ability to be a future cornerstone piece for the team. On the other hand, there's a ton of pressure on players to come in and perform immediately, or else you run the risk of people labeling you an NFL Draft bust.

The Packers used a first-round pick on Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan, a player whose positional flexibility and versatility is considered one of his best overall assets. Unfortunately, it's been a bit of a rough start for Morgan at OTAs and minicamp with penalties and having to overcome some mental hurdles.

Those aren't my words, either. That's what head coach Matt LaFleur said to the media:

Of course, the immediate reaction from a lot of fans is going to be -- why didn't the Packers draft someone more mentally NFL ready? Why did they pass on Cooper DeJean? Why did they pass on Graham Barton? Was this guy the right pick?

It's not easy to have patience with first-round draft picks. It's even harder to have patience for first-round draft picks when your fan base perhaps wanted other guys in that pick slot. It's a different level of pressure because of how die-hard fans are in regards to falling in love with prospects. As Brian Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur well know at this point, the process is going to be questioned up until the point that results are seen.

Then you look like a genius.

One of the tougher aspects of waiting for a player like Morgan to emerge is the current confusion or lack of clarity over what position he will ultimately land at. It's great to be versatile, but it's horrifying to think that your first-round pick is struggling making the transition to the NFL mentally and is having to be pulled in different directions positionally when he could just focus in at one spot.
